Solo project: Redesign of Ixl an educational math app for students with intellectual disabilities

IXL is primarily used to teach math, but can be used for other subjects as well. It is used by 1/8 teachers in the United States. My recommendations to improve the app were to follow the Principles of Design for Children (ages 3-5) by Nielsen Norman. Why ages 3-5? Because these children’s cognitive age is 3-5, despite their biological age as older.

Restaurant Reshapes Happy Hour with Point-Of-Sale System

A restaurant business was interested in streamlining their process relating to taking, placing, and fulfilling orders. My recommendations for streamlining processes were to make the happy hour button active only during happy hour time, label happy hour drinks with the beverage name, have HH (happy hour) show on the ticket to the kitchen for correct food portions, place sticker on happy hour menus to communicate Dine-In Only, and reviewed system for accessibility.

Connecting Mission to Product, Spend One:Gaard One

Gaard One engineers for the 21st century outdoor enthusiast that enjoys tech savvy, handy, and resourceful equipment. The problem was Gaard One’s customer was not connecting their mission to the company. Our recommendation was a roadmap of touchpoints focused on the trade show booth since that was where their current success was.

Financial Healthcare Company’s Intranet

A healthcare financial company that needed a “one-stop-shop” for it’s employees to communicate and collaborate. Before the redesign employees were getting inundated with emails for communication and using disjointed systems. The redesigned intranet created a streamlined communication tool with access to employee resources and tools.
